For many, the holiday season is the most wonderful time of year, and special activities are a big reason why. We may be warmer here in winter than our neighbors to the north, but we can still experience some traditional winter fun. Head over to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, where the event center is converted into a temporary ice skating rink for the holiday season.

This temporary bit of winter has been put in place at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion since 2015, bringing the community at large a unique way to spend some time with friends and family during the holiday season. The ice skating rink opens from November through January 15th. Kids and adults alike can enjoy a turn on the ice, and there is no need to have your own pair of ice skates, you get a set of blades to wear with your admission.

Ice skating itself has been a long-standing winter traditional in many colder climates, providing a fun and exciting way to connect the community. The seasonal ice rink at The Woodlands gives us the chance to get into the spirit of winter, and get in a good work out, too.

If you are searching for something different to do with the kids during winter break, or perhaps for a work party, getting out on the ice could be just the thing. Within the facilities there is plenty of space for gatherings, with tables and benches and concessions as well. This seasonal amenity continues to grow more popular year after year, so plan now and reserve your time on the ice for your special occasion. Visit The Woodland's website to find information on the rink's hours, as well as how to reserve it!

Whether you’ve never been on the ice before, or are an ‘old-hand’ at skating, being able to spend some time enjoying the fun of ice skating highlights the variety of seasonal activities you can find in our region.
