We are deep into summer now, and it won’t be long before the kids head back to school. But there is still plenty of time for summer fun! Check out these upcoming July events in the Conroe and Woodlands areas. There is plenty to do and see this month, from fireworks to 5Ks!

July 2 – 10am-7pm – Bring the family on down for the Montgomery Freedom Fest! Enjoy the parade through historic downtown, baking and BBQ cook-offs, artisan crafts, and Kids Zone. Parking is off Clepper Street in opposite Fernland Historical Park.

July 3 – 8pm (doors open at 6:30pm) – Enjoy the Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands. This free concert under the stars will celebrate our nation’s patriotic heritage through the familiar marches and anthems we all know and love. Free.

July 4 – 6pm-10pm ΜΆ  After your holiday BBQ, spend the evening enjoying Red Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza at Town Green Park and Waterway Square in the Woodlands. Vendors, food, live music and entertainment on multiple stages, a parade…all capped off by the longest and largest fireworks display in the Greater Houston area. You won’t want to miss the fun!

July 8-24 – Fridays/Saturdays @ 8pm, Sundays @ 2pm – You loved the movie (admit it!). Now you can follow the adventures of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes with style and humor in Legally Blonde, the Musical! Presented by Stage Right, at Crighton Theatre, this musical is fun for the whole family. Tickets are $20/adults, $18/seniors, and $15/students.

July 10, 16, & 17 – various times – Every kid loves fire trucks! Bring your kids (or the kid in you) to the Good Neighbor Days at the Woodlands’ Fire Stations. See the trucks up close and personal, meet firefighters and law enforcement officers that keep us safe, learn crime and fire prevention tips, and register your bike for free. July 10 @ Fire Station #4, July 16 @ Fire Station #6, and July 17 @ Fire Station #7. Check website for times at each location.

July 23 – 7am-12pm – Join the 1st Annual Freedom 5K, sponsored by The Father’s House of Conroe. This run for charity is in support of Osanidde village in Uganda, which is home to over 150 widows and orphans. The funds will provide the community with supplies to help the village become self-sufficient, such as a tractor and fishing nets, as well as other necessary items.
