Fall is in the air and with it comes some great exciting, events worth checking out. Conroe is about community, and our community is varied and incredible. In addition to Halloween fun, there are plenty of different festivals and happenings to appeal to every member of the family in the coming weeks. Take a look at some of the different ways you can spend time with friends and family, and connect with others in October.

Conroe is home to a popular Texas tradition, Championship Bull Riding. Coming up on Saturday, October 1st, you can join in the excitement and fun of bull riding at the 3rd Annual Conroe, Texas CBR Bull Mania. Head over to the Lone Star Expo center for an evening of bull riding entertainment and classic Texas fun for the whole family.

Bring the whole family to another Texas tradition at the Texas Sawmill Festival also on Saturday, October 1st. This festival brings together historical exhibits, excellent BBQ and other local food and drink, a fantastic Kid Zone, alongside an incredible Paul Bunyan show and new this year, the Texas Lumberjack Championship contest. Bull Sallas Park in New Caney is the place to be for a great day of family fun.

It’s time once again for the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, now in its 27th year. Cajun food, music and fun await the whole family at this popular Conroe festival. Check out regional artists, find out who will win the Catfish Pageant and enjoy special performances by local dance teams and community groups. Friday October 14th- Sunday October 16th it’s all about Cajun catfish fun.

Head over to the Southern Star Brewery on Wednesday, October 19th for a Frightfully Fun Family Friendly Evening, and help support breast cancer research. The Aveda Institute of Houston is putting on this Halloween themed evening of fun, which includes a Tim Burton inspired hair show, a silent auction, doggy costume contest, cornhole and horseshoe games, sweet treats and so much more.

Get inspired and get great deals on new plants and garden vegetables for your home. The Montgomery County Master Gardeners program, is hosting two fall plant sales. The first, on Saturday, October 1st will have the region’s best plants for your yard, and on Saturday, October 15th, you can take your pick through local vegetable and herbs. Wagons are encouraged to help take your haul home.

If you love golf, be sure to register for the upcoming Bridgewood Farms Charity Golf Tournament, being held Monday, October 24th. Lunch, 18 rounds of golf and a BBQ dinner will be on hand for this big fundraiser for the Bridgewood Farms, an organization dedicated to helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, lead quality lives.
